The Spiral
What leads us into the center
of everything
must go around and around
to find the heart of itself.
What takes us to a place
of unassailable serenity
must go around and around
to show us the order of the universe.
What gives us a view
into the meaning of things
must go around and around
and slowly build the hall of mirrors
where we will find our place of being,
and there
like a fruit about to bear children
we will ripen in the sunlight
and be at peace.
